About Impact Retail
Impact Retail is a three-year consumer-facing initiative that aims to educate, empower, and inspire individuals to embrace more conscious fashion lifestyles.
Fashion is more than what we wear — it reflects the choices we make, the resources we use, and the impact we leave behind. Through three years and three thematic explorations, Impact Retail invites consumers to uncover the hidden costs of our fashion habits, offering a deeper understanding of how our clothes are made and the ripple effects of their production, consumption, and disposal.
A Three-Year Journey of Awareness and Action
Each year, Impact Retail shines a light on a different theme within the fashion ecosystem. From material origins to manufacturing, and finally to end-of-life solutions, every phase invites consumers to engage with the stories behind their clothes and take tangible steps toward a more sustainable future.
Year One: Denim Decoded
Our first theme, Denim Decoded, unravels the story of one of fashion’s most iconic fabrics — denim. Follow your jeans from cotton farms to denim mills, and learn how each stage of production shapes the environment and communities involved. Through immersive experiences, storytelling, and curated retail activations, Denim Decoded encourages you to see your jeans not just as fashion, but as a symbol of connection, craft, and consequence.
Our Vision
To cultivate a conscious consumer movement that champions an equitable, sustainable, and ethical fashion future.
We envision a retail landscape where transparency, accountability, and sustainability are not afterthoughts, but the very foundations of every fashion experience — from creation to consumption.
Our Mission
Impact Retail exists to educate, engage, and empower consumers to understand the unseen impacts of fashion — environmental, social, and ethical.
Through immersive, theme-based campaigns spanning three years, we aim to spark awareness, inspire action, and shift mindsets and behaviours toward more responsible fashion choices.
By connecting people to the true stories behind their clothes, Impact Retail encourages every individual to become an active participant in shaping a more conscious and compassionate fashion ecosystem.
Rethinking Fashion. Rethink Impact!
Every second, a truckload of textiles is discarded and ends up in landfills [source] — a striking reminder of the scale of our consumption and production habits.
Globally, the fashion industry produces over 100 billion garments every year, yet more than 80% of these end up being incinerated, landfilled, or polluting our environment. The result? A mounting textile waste crisis that calls for urgent transformation — not just within the industry, but in the way we, as consumers, engage with fashion.
Change begins with our consumption patterns.
Behind every price tag lies a complex story — one woven with hidden social and environmental costs. From cotton fields and dye houses to factory floors and retail shelves, each step in the supply chain carries unseen consequences for people and the planet.
Through Impact Retail, we aim to shift mindsets and spark conscious conversations, encouraging consumers to pause, reflect, and recognize the true cost of their clothing.
Because every choice matters.
As consumers, we hold the power to reshape the future of fashion — to:
- Upcycle or repair what we already own instead of throwing it away.
- Support ethical and slow-fashion brands when making new purchases, and
- Educate ourselves about the materials, labour, and impact behind our clothes.
Small actions, when multiplied, create meaningful change.
Let’s start that change — together, with Impact Retail.
